Infirmary 2026 found footage

Infirmary Is Bringing Its Found Footage Horror to Shudder This October

Infirmary heads to Shudder on October 2, 2026, bringing found footage horror, an abandoned psychiatric hospital and a security guard’s terrifying night shift.

There are probably a few horror settings that need much introduction, and an abandoned psychiatric hospital is one of them – add a security guard, a body camera and a night shift that goes wrong, and you’ve got Infirmary, a new found footage horror movie heading to Shudder on Friday, October 2, 2026.

The film arrives as part of Shudder’s enormous Season of Screams programming lineup and will also feature in the platform’s October 2 “Found Footage Frights” watch party alongside Host.

What is Infirmary about?

Infirmary follows a security guard who disappears during his first night working at an abandoned psychiatric hospital, where the footage recovered from his body camera becomes the main evidence of what happened – the official synopsis puts it rather simply – a guard vanishes on his first night at an old psychiatric hospital in 2023, while his body-camera footage captures incidents that continue to baffle investigators.

The film stars Paul Syre as Edward, alongside Mark Anthony Williams and Danielle Kennedy, with Nicholas Pineda directing, while Katy Krauland wrote the screenplay – Pineda also receives a story credit, with Krauland, Rod Blackhurst and Noah Lang among the film’s producers and executive producers.

The movie takes place inside an old psychiatric hospital as said, with the abandoned building providing the corridors, rooms and general sense that absolutely nobody should be wandering around there after dark, and because this is found footage, the body-camera perspective means you’re stuck seeing the hospital from the same limited viewpoint as the person wearing the camera.

The film currently has a 6.9/10 rating on IMDb, although that’s based on a relatively small number of ratings at the moment.
