Hell House LLC Is Coming to Theaters Nationwide in US

Hell House LLC is finally getting a proper theatrical release.

Ten years after the found-footage horror was first released digitally, the original Hell House LLC will be shown in major movie theaters across the US for the first time as part of a special 10th-anniversary Halloween engagement.

Hell House LLC Gets the Big Screen

Written and directed by Stephen Cognetti, Hell House LLC originally premiered on digital platforms on November 1, 2016 – the film is set around the Abaddon Hotel, where a group of people are preparing an elaborate Halloween haunted house, where something goes badly wrong during the opening night, and the surviving footage from the attraction becomes the basis for an investigation into what actually happened.

A decade later, the film has grown into a franchise, with four additional instalments and a director’s cut following the original, where the latest film, Hell House LLC: Lineage, was released in 2025, although it wasn’t shot in found footage.

The film has previously received occasional seasonal screenings at venues including Alamo Drafthouse and IFC Center, but what makes the October release different is that it will be playing across major theater chains nationwide rather than as a handful of individual screenings.

So for anyone who discovered the film through streaming or digital platforms back in 2016, this is effectively the first chance to see the original film as a nationwide theatrical event – the four-night run starts on Thursday, October 29, continuing through Halloween weekend and finishing on Sunday, November 1.

A Found-Footage Film That Started a Franchise

The theatrical release also comes at the end of a pretty substantial ten-year run for the series.

The original Hell House LLC was followed by Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel, Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor and Hell House LLC: Lineage.

It’s also worth remembering that the original film was released at a time when found footage had already been around for years and plenty of people were ready to declare the format finished.
