The Point Pleasant Tapes Finally Gets a VOD and DVD Release

The Point Pleasant Tapes is finally getting a wider home-video release, with Wild Eye Releasing set to bring the 2024 found-footage horror movie to VOD and DVD on November 24, 2026 – directed by Dan Jones, Jesse P. Pollack and Michael Vaccaro, the film takes its inspiration from one of America’s most famous cryptid legends – the Mothman – and presents the story through recovered footage from a disastrous trip to Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

Three Friends Went Looking for the Mothman

The story is set in 1987, when Brian Chambers, Chandler Clark and Matt Rearden travel to Point Pleasant while investigating the Mothman legend, and things obviously don’t go according to plan, as the three friends disappear during their trip, with their footage eventually resurfacing decades later and revealing what happened during their investigation.

The cast includes Bobby Hillman as Brian Chambers, Eric Enzman as Matt Rearden and Kye Hardy as Chandler Clark.

It Has Already Had Quite a Long Journey

The Point Pleasant Tapes premiered at the Lambertville Halloween Film Festival in October 2024, where an early version was screened, before continuing its festival journey, and the production also has an unusually long history behind it – according to the filmmakers, the project began taking shape as far back as 2017, with production attempts eventually leading to filming across 2023 and 2024.

The filmmakers have also previously discussed using vintage equipment to create the look of late-’80s footage, while the story deliberately presents the material as something that has resurfaced decades after the disappearance.

When Can You Watch The Point Pleasant Tapes?

The Point Pleasant Tapes will arrive on VOD and DVD on November 24, 2026, through Wild Eye Releasing, and the DVD is currently listed with an 82-minute runtime and includes the trailer as a bonus feature – You can pre order the DVD here.
