Erie Teaser Gives First Look at Alison-Eve Hammersley’s New Found-Footage Horror

A first teaser has been released for Erie, the new found-footage horror movie from filmmaker Alison-Eve Hammersley, giving us an early look at the film ahead of its world premiere next week – the teaser is brief, but it wastes little time putting the found-footage setup to work, where the footage shows characters searching for someone named Fred inside a dark building before things take a turn, keeping the details of what exactly they have discovered largely hidden.

That footage comes from a movie set in 1999, with the story presented through recordings made by siblings Stella and Oscar as they investigate what is happening in their Pennsylvania hometown.

The pair return home following the unexplained death of their sister Iris, only to find that her death is connected to a disturbing increase in suicides across the county, and their investigation takes them into local secrets, conspiracy theories and increasingly disturbing discoveries.

Hammersley makes her feature directorial debut with Erie after previously working on award-winning short films, including Fragile.com and You’ll Only Have Each Other, and she co-wrote the movie with J. Batzli.

The cast includes Carly Stewart, Grant Crater, Ryan W. Garcia, Jonathan Cahill and Matt Gossen – Hammersley produced the film with Anna Golin, with George Henry Horton, Thomas Hartmann and Gossen also involved in the production.

Erie will have its world premiere at Beyond Fest on October 1, 2026, screening at the MUBI Theatre at Los Feliz 3 in Los Angeles, where Hammersley will be joined for a post-screening Q&A by Carly Stewart, Grant Crater, co-writer J. Batzli, producer George Henry Horton and producer/specialty character designer Matt Gossen.

The movie will also have its East Coast premiere at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, giving the film another opportunity to reach found-footage and independent horror audiences following its Beyond Fest debut.
