The Psychic: Files sends two thrill-seeking streamers into a haunted psychic’s home, where sinister forces control the spirits.
If you’re the sort of person who thinks breaking into a supposedly haunted house while livestreaming it to strangers on the internet is a sensible career move, The Psychic: Files has a fairly obvious lesson for you – maybe don’t do that.
The new found footage horror movie from writer/director Wes Clark has now arrived, taking the increasingly familiar influencer-horror setup and throwing a nastier supernatural twist into it, where two thrill-seeking streamers find that the spirits inside aren’t exactly acting on their own, and apparently, something much worse is pulling the strings.
Terror Films Releasing officially released The Psychic: Files on August 21, 2026, with the movie heading to multiple streaming and digital platforms, including Tubi, Chilling, The Roku Channel and Fandango at Home, among others.
The Psychic: Files Takes Found Footage Into Influencer Territory
The basic setup is wonderfully stupid in exactly the way found footage horror often needs – two streamers break into the home of a legendary psychic because, naturally, a potentially haunted house is apparently just another content opportunity – they’re looking for views, attention and the sort of viral moment that will hopefully make their follower count go up.
Instead, they get trapped inside, and according to the official synopsis, the pair discover that the spirits haunting the property are being puppeteered by something far more sinister.
Wes Clark wrote, directed and produced The Psychic: Files, with the movie coming through 741 Films and its growing genre slate, and this isn’t Clark’s first feature, either – his previous film was How to Start a Cult in 5-Easy Steps, a satirical thriller that explored faith and youth culture, and his filmmaking background also includes work under Power Rangers and Project Almanac director Dean Israelite.
The film stars Shelby Latterman, Jason Dezik and Amanda Schoonover, with Latterman playing Kira, Dezik as Tyler and Schoonover as Madam Maze.
The Psychic: Files is out now, where the distributor lists it runtime as 81-minutes.
