The Lost Vlog of Ruby Real

The Lost Vlog of Ruby Real Review (2020)

The Lost Vlog of Ruby Real is only 60 minutes long, which is about 60 minutes too long.

Synopsis

The Lost Vlog of Ruby Real follows three vloggers investigating an online rumor about a mysterious tree in Vancouver where apparently people vanish or get lost in time near the tree.

My Thoughts

This film is not very good, it has to be said.

Some of the ideas entertained in the film could have been somewhat interesting, but it is all executed quite badly overall, and you have to ignore a lot of logic in this one.

The actors do what they can with a bad script, and while the concept could have been interesting, the film just doesn’t delve much into it all and just when you think it might get interesting, it never really goes anywhere.

The pacing of the film is not good either, and it just all drags to it disappointing conclusion and it is all very generic, and the film isn’t scary in the slightest, although some of the sound effects are not too bad.

You will forget about this film as soon as it is over, and even at 60 minutes long, it feels like a chore.

Good Points

It’s Short: The runtime is only 60 minutes, thankfully.

Acting: I am stretching it a bit with making this a good point, but the acting from the females isn’t the worst ever, especially for a low budget found footage film, but the guy was terrible, but as mentioned, they did not have a lot to work with.

Bad Points

Nothing Happens: The film just never really goes anywhere and is a bit random at times, and I am not sure what it wanted to be or convey.

Generic: One of the most generic films I have ever seen.

Logic Goes Out Of The Window: You will be scratching your head with regards to the lack of basic logic portrayed in this one.

Is It Worth Watching?

Not really, even with the short run time, this is a film I am finding hard to recommend much about at all.
