The film follows a young family – Mark, Diana, and Mia, who are slowly torn apart by a dark presence that is rooted in Greek mythology.
The story is told through “found” police footage, capturing the family’s torment as each person is targeted in disturbing ways.
Written, directed, and starring Mark Andrew Bowers along with his real family, the project originally began as casual footage of their new home.
But when they stumbled upon an eerie, crumbling village, the film took a darker turn, leading to some improvised scenes and actual real life scares.
Off-camera, strange events started happening such as Mark feeling a presence lurking nearby, and their puppy barking at empty corners, while Marcela, Mark’s wife, kept the curtains shut day and night as she was so shaken by the feeling she was being watched.
These unsettling experiences pushed the family to finish the film quickly, folding actual real fears into the story line.
Keith Leopard, Uncork’d’s President, praised the film’s unique mix of horror, mythology, and personal storytelling, calling it a standout addition to their lineup.
