This found footage horror film is being marketed in a different way.
Only To Be Seen In Theaters
A new found footage horror movie, It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This, is gaining some attention for its unusual release strategy, as unlike most films, it’s being shown only in theaters, with no plans for streaming, DVD, or Blu-ray releases.
The directors, Nick Toti and Rachel Kempf, made this clear by including a note at the end of the trailer that reads: “The producers of this motion picture regretfully announce that It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This will never be released online. See it in theaters.”
Toti explained the choice by saying he had spent 15 years making films that were released for free online but failed to gain traction, so this time they wanted to take another approach to creating buzz and turn their limited release into a unique selling point.
The film premiered with a Midwest tour in 2023, followed by screenings at some festivals, and more recently, it has played in Alamo Drafthouse theaters across the U.S, with plans to continue showing it as long as there’s interest.
It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This follows Toti and Kempf, who play themselves, as they move into a rundown duplex with a haunted history.
The plot draws from Kempf’s real-life séances with her friend Christian, who also appears in the film., and the semi-improvised movie explores what happens when their experiences in the house begin to escalate.
Though the film won’t be available for home viewing, fans can request screenings in their area, but for now, It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This is an exclusive theater experience.
