About Found Footage: The Making of the Patterson Project
Found Footage: The Making of the Patterson Project is a new mockumentary horror-comedy film that will be getting a limited theatrical release on June 20th, before heading to streaming on June 24th. Said to be inspired by films such as The Blair Witch Project and This is Spinal Tap, it will follow the production of a BigFoot documentary that goes wrong.
Directed by Max Tzannes and starring Brennan Keel Cook, Chen Tang, Erika Vetter, and Dean Cameron. It will also be produced by Tyler Friesen with Radio Silence – the team behind Scream and Ready or Not.
The film also has a marketing campaign going on, Visit ThePattersonProject.org for more on that!
The movie synopsis reads:
A crew of documentarians chronicle an amateur filmmaker’s quest to make the world’s greatest found footage horror film.
Max Tzannes has this to say:
Dirty Shot Clean was thrilled to collaborate with filmmakers whose genre-bending movies have had such a profound influence on our work […] We wanted to tell a story that celebrates and subverts the found footage tropes we all know and love, while also poking fun at the terrifying experience of making an independent horror film.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Radio Silence) add:
It’s a true challenge to innovate within a well-worn subgenre but the gents at Dirty Shot Clean have created something truly original, hilarious, scary and full of heart […] It’s a send-up of our favorite found footage tropes and a love letter to the process of indie filmmaking. We’re so honored to be a very tiny part of bringing this one to the masses.
