About The Poughkeepsie Tapes
The Poughkeepsie Tapes, one of the most disturbing found footage movie you can watch, is now available on Prime Video to stream for all prime members.
The film is a 2007 mockumentary and tells the story of a fictional serial killer in Poughkeepsie, New York, and uses fake interviews and footage supposedly filmed by the killer to portray his violent crimes.
After premiering at Tribeca in 2007, tthe film never got a theatrical release which made it hard to find and watch until it was released briefly in 2014.
Despite being fictional, the film’s realistic style actually convinced a lot viewers it was real, in the same vein as The Blair Witch Project.
Much like Megan is Missing which has just released on Tubi, The Poughkeepsie Tapes is a disturbing film and won’t be to everyone’s tastes.
