Hell House LLC

Hell House LLC Review (2015)

Hell House LLC is one of the best found footage movies you can watch. If you have never seen it, you need to watch it, especially if you like creepy clowns.

Synopsis

Five years after fifteen people were killed during a haunted house tour, a documentary crew visits the scene to investigate what really happened.

My Thoughts

Hell House LLC starts with a documentary-style introduction that sets the stage for a mysterious tragedy during a Halloween haunted house tour at the Abaddon Hotel.

Without revealing too much, it involves an incident that resulted in multiple deaths and that’s where the main characters come in, who are a group of people who make a living by setting up haunted houses.

As they begin preparing the hotel, strange and unexplained events start to occur.

One of the most memorable parts of the film is the creepy clown mannequin, and this bald clown, with blood streaming from its eyes, often appears in unexpected places.

This clown mannequin becomes a recurring element in the film, as it mysteriously moves from room to room and you are left wondering what role it will ultimately play in the story. Which is a good thing.

Its quite an unsettling presence that serves as a reminder to always expect the unexpected.

The film attempts at fear are mainly from non-moving scenes and inanimate objects, and it succeeds brilliantly, as Lingering shots of mannequins in unexpected places make you question whether they might suddenly come to life or if someone is hiding among them.

Many scenes take place in dimly lit rooms and corridors too, and the use of shadows and silhouettes enhances everything and builds the dread really well.

When it comes to scares, the movie excels at building that suspense and delivering some good jump scares. Hell House LLC is one of the best found footage movies ever in my view.

Hell House LLC on IMDB

Good Points

Strong Suspense Building: I loved the gradual buildup of suspense and the well-timed jump scares, it was done really well.

Good Found Footage Style: The movie utilizes the found footage format really well, and it just works how you expect a good found footage film to work.

Good Atmosphere: The atmosphere in this one is also really good, and keeps you interested all the way through the film.

Bad Points

Limited Character Development: The characters are not really deeply explored, so if you’re someone who cares about that sort of thing….

Uneven Pacing: Certain parts of the movie progress a little slow, and while not a big complaint, certain parts could have been done a bit better.

Is It Worth Watching?

Yes, this is one of my favorite found footage horror movies, and it also has sequels too and a fifth one is being released in 2025 called Hell House LLC: Lineage.

Hop on this franchise if you haven’t already, Hell House LLC is still one of the best found footage movies on Shudder.
